Through our Better Communities Fund, we provide support, resources, and expertise annually to local causes and not-for-profit organisations. All while developing lasting relationships with those who are as passionate about progress as we are.
With The Northern School of Art, this means getting involved where it matters most — inside and outside the classroom. In recent years, we’ve worked with course leaders from the UAL Extended Diploma in Graphic and Digital Design to integrate industry-approved experiences and opportunities — ensuring creative education reflects real-world challenges and opportunities.
But our involvement doesn’t stop there. We open our studio doors to students for paid internships and immersive visits, while developing project briefs that mirror the demands and dynamics of the creative industry. By bringing students into our world, we provide hands-on experience that bridges the gap between classroom learning and career readiness.
Tom Burton, Course Leader for Graphic & Digital Design at The Northern School of Art, said: “Better’s time and support has made a real difference to both our students and the future of creative education in the region. By shaping our curriculum with real-world insights and opportunities, they’ve helped join the dots between education and employment.
“Every interaction empowers our students to build the skills, confidence, and understanding they need to thrive in the creative industries.
“Partnerships like this are crucial to inspiring the next generation of talent, and we’re excited to see our journey continue to grow.”
Mark Easby, Managing Director at Better, added: “We have a platform to build more than just brands — we’re building a better place to live, learn, and work. Supporting young talent and connecting classrooms with real career opportunities is not only important, it’s our responsibility. The creative industry in our region has so much potential, and it’s up to all of us to nurture that.
“By giving students the tools, experiences, and insights they need, we’re helping shape the next generation. That’s what real progress looks like.”
As an agency born in the North East and working across the globe, we truly believe that our region’s creative potential is limitless. And we’re adamant that when young people are given the tools, opportunities, and support to thrive, they’ll drive forward progress and a better future. Together with The Northern School of Art, we’re proud to play a small part in that journey.
