Helping leaders flourish

The Brief

With the market for business coaching getting increasingly crowded and the ability to create a functioning templated online presence becoming ever easier, Team Massive Results’ outdated website was working against them. While the content was regularly updated, their look and feel was outdated. It definitely wasn’t communicating genuine experience and superior expertise.

Background

From six people to 6000, Ian Kinnery has owned, ran and grown businesses of all sizes. He’s been where many business leaders are now. He understands the pressures and what it takes to grow a business to its full potential. Through a combination of genuine insight, real world experience and a truly empathic approach, Ian works with leaders to promote behavioural change that allows their businesses to prosper.

The Solution

We gave the business a more intuitive and personal name, updated and elevated the design to better convey the wealth of knowledge and experience and, first and foremost, we re-clarified brand story to define a crystal clear description of what sets Kinnery apart. Over time a gulf had opened between the high quality of coaching Ian provides and the dated way his service is represented, we brought the brand up to date and revitalised its character to give it the look it deserves.

Getting personal

During our initial workshops we got to talk to Ian in person, something that is even more critical in a personal brand. Coupled with testimonials and listening to Hazel speak about Ian’s coaching, it became increasingly apparent that people simply remember working with the Ian Kinnery the Business Coach rather than Team Massive Results the organisation. Given the one-on-one nature of the service, Ian’s stance that it would always be led by him, along with everything else we heard, it seemed clear that the business name needed to change to what everyone naturally defaults to: Ian Kinnery Coaching. This was distilled down further to arrive at simply: Kinnery.

Bird’s-eye view

Sometimes business leaders are so caught up in their day to day operations they can’t see the wood for the trees. Like the proverbial bug in the rug they find it impossible to zoom out and see the bigger pattern that surrounds them. But this is exactly what Kinnery can do, acting as a calm guiding presence. They can plot a route forward together, scaling what previously seemed insurmountable challenges. To represent this idea we selected calming aerial photography of the natural landscape, as a metaphor for Kinnery’s bird’s-eye view of business challenges.

"Better’s ability to challenge us, to see things we couldn’t and articulate our proposition was immensely valuable. This isn’t just a logo for us, it gave us a new name which became the cornerstone of a more personal, self-assured and sophisticated brand that really reflects who we are. We've had universally positive feedback, everything feels more aligned and joined up now."
